OROFACIAL MYOFUNCTIONAL
THERAPY (OMT)
We provide Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy to achieve the correct resting posture of the oral and facial muscles at rest and during swallowing. OMT breaks habit patterns that may disrupt normal dental development and facial aesthetics.
Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy uses exercises to assist in the neurological re-adaptation and normalization of the developing or developed craniofacial structures and functions. It encompasses the study, research, prevention, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of functional and structural alterations in the regions of the mouth, face, and neck.
AUGMENTATIVE AND ALTERNATIVE COMMUNICATION DEVICES (AAC)
At MTC, our dedicated therapists provide AAC therapy for individuals with limited verbal communication. We offer assessments and personalized treatment plans. Additionally, we facilitate trial therapy to determine the best AAC device, and if eligible provide assistance to obtaining state funding to cover the cost of the AAC device.
FEEDING & SWALLOWING THERAPY
We follow a sensory-motor approach to address feeding and swallowing disorders in children and adults. Eating is an essential part of life, and our highly experienced team is skilled to evaluate and treat patients with extensive medical complexities and restrictive eating to ensure success.
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
Occupational Therapists treat injured, ill, or disabled patients through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. They help these patients develop, recover, improve, and maintain the skills needed for daily living and working. Occupational Therapists work in partnership with their patients and patient's family to identify important and valued activities that are challenging. Specifically, at MTC, we address sensory processing needs by addressing on the process that organizes sensation from one’s own body and environment, making it possible to use the body effectively within the environment.
